Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi source this Fiano from the idyllic southern Clare Valley hamlet of Auburn, which is nestled along the banks of the Wakefield River. Free draining alluvium terroir provides a perfect home for this native southern Italian variety. Low yielding, the small thick skinned berries produce wine of exceptional flavour.

Coupled with their non-interventional, vegan friendly approach to winemaking, Longhop wines are fresh, generous and full of flavour.

Refreshing notes of honeydew, lemon zest, white peach and apple.

Food match with seafood, creamy pasta dishes, poultry and salads.

2024

Fiano

Aromatic and intensely flavoured, Fiano is a variety on the move.

2025

2025 will go down as one of the driest on record, rainfall was only 42% of the long-term average for the gowing season. Albeit there were no damaging heatwaves for the season. An early harvest, with warm days and cool nights bought about great flavours with excellent acid balance.
There were good crop levels and balanced canopy growth and despite the challenges of the dry weather, there were no disease issues.
Excellent ripening conditions bought about a flawless harvest, acid levels were high, reflecting cool nights in the final stages of the vintage.
All in all a particularly high quality vintage.
