2024 was an excellent vintage in terms of quality, however lower yields were recorded across the Adelaide Plains region. Dry Spring conditions, with rainfall down 25% made the vines work during the early part of the growing season, bud burst was early.
We avoided any frosts and mild and dry weather conditions continued across the growing season. One heatwave event caused concern, however the wines recovered well in the following cooler weather until harvest.
Full ripening and full flavour development, an overall excellent quality red vintage from the Adelaide Plains.

Sourced from the original Normans 1952 single vineyard, this majestic and tranquil site abutting the meandering Gawler River is abundant with wildlife and river red gums. Sandy alluvium soils ranging to grey Gawler River loams dominate, free draining and friable, the vines never suffer from wet feet and fight hard to produce small, thick skinned berries of concentrated flavour.
